The Saabi campaign is equipping young couples in Nigeria with the right information and resources on child spacing. Whether we’re facilitating peer-to-peer research or launching ground-breaking behaviour change campaigns, we constantly help young couples to defy gender norms, take control of their futures, and become better versions of themselves.
Access to reproductive health services is a human right for men and women. Everyone should have access to contraceptive services, sexual health treatment, and education on healthy child spacing. Together with our partners, the Saabi campaign has devised innovative solutions to ensure that young couples overcome barriers and live healthier, happier lives. When young people thrive, we collectively experience social and economic gains and decreased generational poverty.

Child spacing means planning the time between pregnancies to ensure that both the mother and her children are healthy. It allows the mother to recover fully between births and also provides enough time and resources to care for the children.
Waiting a few years between children allows the mother’s body to rest and recover, helping prevent complications during future childbirth and keeping both mother and baby strong.
Doctors recommend waiting at least two to three years between pregnancies for the mother’s body to fully recover and to make sure the children are well taken care of.
There are various child birth spacing methods available that may suit your body and lifestyle. These methods are safe, widely available, and offer different options depending on what works best for each family. They include birth control pills, injections, implants, and IUD (Intrauterine Device).

Yes. Healthy relationships are built on mutual respect and understanding. It is important for couples to engage in discussions regarding contraception, allowing both parties to participate equally in decision-making. It not only shows their commitment to one another but also strengthens trust within their relationship.
